The Studio / Who Works Here

Four People, No Rotating Contractors

The fitter who measures your swing is the person who builds the club and the person who picks up the phone when something needs adjusting in August.

RK

Ross Kettleman

Owner, Driver and Long Game

Spent six seasons as an assistant pro at a Des Moines municipal course before the garage bench took over. Ross runs most driver blocks and does the launch-condition work that the shop is known for. He keeps a paper log of every build going back to 2011 and will happily pull yours up from four years ago.

Book Ross for driver work and for any bag that has never been measured.

PR

Priya Raghunathan

Fairway Woods and Hybrids

Came out of a mechanical engineering job at an agricultural equipment maker in Cedar Rapids and joined the shop in 2019. Priya is the person who introduced turf-interaction testing on the grass tee, and she is unusually good at explaining why a club that tests well on a mat can dig on a tight lie.

Book Priya if your three wood is unreliable off the deck, or for the hybrid-versus-long-iron question.

TV

Toby Vance

Build Bench and Scoring Clubs

Thirteen years of club repair before he ever fitted anybody, which shows in how tight his tolerances are. Toby assembles nearly everything that leaves the building and runs wedge and putter blocks. He is the reason the shop refuses to accept a swingweight that is off by more than half a point.

Book Toby for wedges, putters, and anything that needs a repair rather than a purchase.

DO

Danielle Orsak

Studio Manager and Junior Program

Runs the calendar, the follow-ups and the junior fitting program that started in 2021. Danielle played collegiate golf in the Midwest and handles most first calls, which means she is usually the person who works out which block you actually need before you ever come in.

Talk to Danielle first if you are not sure what to book, or for anything involving a junior.

Requesting Someone

You Can Ask for a Specific Fitter

Put the name in the notes field when you book and we will hold the slot with that person if the calendar allows. There is no surcharge for it. Ross and Priya both fill up two to three weeks out during April and May, so book early if you have a preference and a spring deadline.

If you have no preference, Danielle will assign based on what you tell us on the booking form. Most people who describe a driver problem end up with Ross; most people who describe an approach problem end up with Priya or Toby.

Book and Name a Fitter

Continuing Education

Everybody here does at least one manufacturer technical school a year and one independent building or fitting course. It is not a marketing line, it is the only way to keep up with what changes in head design year over year.

Toby also handles the annual recalibration of both launch units, which happens every February before the spring rush. A launch monitor that has drifted three percent is worse than no launch monitor at all, because it produces confident wrong answers.

Pick a Person and a Time

Tell us which part of the bag is the problem and, if you like, who you want to work with.
